FAQ

What are the advantages of Sicom brakes?
Above all the extremely light weight ( comparable to Carbon discs ), the outcome of this is a very easily steering behavior and a totally new handling of the vehicle. The vehicle becomes noticeable more agile. The Gyroscopic forces (rotary forces, spinning forces) get enormously reduced.
At cars for example, a noticeable reduced fuel consumption at the same manner of driving is statable.
A considerable advantage at acceleration can be notified.

Do SICOM brakes have an authiorization (homologation) for road traffic?
For a lot of motorcycle models the inspections (verifications) of the TÜV and the licensing procedure for achieving of ABEs is concluded and the ABE is issued (closed). If your motorcycle is not inclosed (contained) in the ABE, a specific inspection is mostly possible. Just ask.

Are SICOM brakes rain capable?
Yes, absolutely, without limitation.

How big is the wear of SICOM brakes?
Used in road traffic no ear could be measured, used for racing, wear of the brake pads appeared.

Does fading appear at SICOM brakes?
Not in the conventionally meaning – the braking power is basically restricted by the maximum temperature of the brake fluid.

Are the SICOM brake calipers only available in blue?
The brake calipers are available in blue anodized and hardcoated.

Are there different operating conditions for the brake pads?
For traffic poperation and competition we offer basically different pads

How comes the high price compared to the stock brake system?
In direct comparison to Carbon brake systems the SICOM brakes are cheaper. Also the brake calipers, caused by midget serial production, are compared to other manufacturers cheap.

Can SICOM brake discs be used together with the stock calipers?
For traffic use some stock calipers could get an approval. Occasionally the brake pistons had to be exchanged. For the use in racing, we suggest to use SICOM brake calipers.

How much weight do I save?
Depending on the bike ca. 2 kg per front wheel.
For example on the Porsche 997 S you save 14 kg on the front axle and 12 kg on the rear axle.
